Last weekend we attended the first Viego Family Reunion at the Wintergreen Resort in the mountains of Virginia. The weather up the mountain was deliciously chilly (compared to the sweltering temps in Baltimore) and it was so nice to be out of the city visiting with family for the weekend. Apia had his first taste of s'mores and sleeping in a tent, and he got to watch 8 of his cousins run circles around him! For the next reunion, he promises to be running around with the rest of them.
Paulie shows off his s'more-making abilities.
Yum!
Apia toasts his first marshmallow.
Playing with his cousins.
Toby shows some team spirit (the hat was actually a gift from Uncle Gabriel).
This little girl turned 1 year old over the weekend.
Venturing out for a hike.

Sportin' the reunion logo on our name tags (taken from the world famous Cohiba Cigar logo).
We didn't have a trail map, so so you can probably guess what we were thinking.
Hiking Viego-style.
We eventually found our way back...
We also found an awesome lake close to Wintergreen called Lake Sherando. It's said to be the "jewel" of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Nothing like some cold watermelon after a swim.

Apia's favorite new expression.
Saying goodbye- we'll miss you all and we'll see you at the reunion in 2010 (hopefully before then as well!)!
