A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of photographing Heather and Patrick's wedding in Greenville, North Carolina. You may remember the engagement shoot that we did with them in March. They kicked off their Southern-Style wedding weekend with the rehearsal dinner, catered by the delicious Parker's Barbeque. At noon on Saturday, Heather and her six bridesmaids started getting ready at The Boulevard Hair Company. A couple hours later, we made our way over to newly restored Yankee Hall Plantation for some photographs before the six o'clock wedding.
Heather was stunning in her gown (the flower girl even referred to her as Barbie!), the bridesmaids looked summery in their green and gold dresses and impressive bouquets, and the groomsmen were nice and relaxed in their tan suits and flip flops! The ceremony took place under an ornate wrought iron dome behind the main plantation house, overlooking tobacco fields in the height of summer -quintessential Eastern North Carolina! The weather held up mostly, except for an unexpected shower right before the outdoor ceremony began! We all got a little nervous, but the rain cooled things down a bit and left us with some dramatic-looking clouds to shoot. Heather and Patrick danced into the night and exited the party to an array of sparklers. We had an awesome time documenting the day's events...congratulations to Heather and Patrick! Here are a few of our favorites...

The plantation house was full of gorgeous antiques which provided the perfect backdrop for the rings!
Heather's dress had phenomenal details.
The only issue was how to get into it! Here she gets a hand from her bridesmaids.

All dressed up.
Stunning!
The programs were very wisely made into fans.

The flower girl and ring bearer were absolutely precious!

The dome was impressive-looking with those clouds in the distance!

Heather got down with the girls.
Everyone seemed to be getting their dance on! This break-dancing number was quite the show stopper.
Whoa! This sure was a dancing crowd.

Heather & Patrick are Married!
Apia's 1st Birthday Weekend
It's hard to believe that Apia is already a year old! We had a pretty mellow weekend (no big birthday bashes), although it did include a visit from his cousins and a pretty cake (decorated by his daddy!). Here are some of the highlights.
Acting all grown up.
Opening some birthday presents from the Philly bunch.

Checking out the mulch at the playground.
Apia's army crawl.
The big kids play on the slide.

And the swing.
Getting good use out of those gates.
Sitting on the front stoop for a birthday portrait.
Wanting to get down from the stoop.
Visiting with some friends.
Sucking on one of Apia's birthday toys.
Is that a tomato he's chewing on?
Apia must have been doing something cute here.
Showing off his hand-clapping skills.
The cake.
Happy 1st Birthday Apia! Thanks to everybody who celebrated with us!

Uttama and Han's Wedding
Here are some of the photos from Uttama and Hans' wedding in Mid-July. Their wedding was quite a blend of cultures as Uttama's family is Indian and Hans is a native Swede. Relatives flew in to Northern California from India and Sweden to celebrate the occasion, and the day was reflective of both their cultures. Uttama was absolutely stunning in her elaborate Indian dress, and equally as beautiful in her white wedding gown. The ceremonies took place on the lawn of the Olema Inn in wine country. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day or a more loving couple. Uttama and Hans, you are adorable together. Congratulations to you both!
The weekend festivities began with an Indian henna gathering. Here Uttama's mother shows her off.

Getting ready for the Indian ceremony.
There were roses everywhere.
Waiting for his cue. A group of djembe drummers made up of Uttama and Hans' close friends played music for the ceremony.

Rings!
Uttama looked so beautiful!

The ceremony begins...

...and ended with a shower of rose petals!
Right after the Indian ceremony, Uttama rushed to change into her less elaborate (but equally beautiful) white wedding dress!
A first glimpse.

Did I mention that we were in wine country?
The food at the Olema Inn was so fresh!
